Carmen Mateu Award

Congratulations to the dancer Maria Khoreva, winner of the first edition of the Carmen Mateu Young Artist European Award, Opera and Dance awarded by the Fundació Castell de Peralada. The prize is endowed with € 30,000. Maria Khoreva is the first soloist of the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg.

The First Edition

The First Edition of the Carmen Mateu Young Artist European Award, Opera and Dance, focused on the Dance category, specifically on classical/neo-classical dancers.

Candidacies were received from Wednesday, 22nd May 2019, with entries closing on 22 October 2019 at 23.59 GMT.

Prize

The prize had a total economic value of €30,000. The winner received €20,000 of this sum (subject to applicable taxation), with the remaining €10,000 going towards the expenses of the winner’s future participation in a future edition of the Castell de Peralada Festival.
